Vamara KONÉ is a full professor of American Studies and Comparative Literature at the Université Alassane Ouattara (UAO) of Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire. He is the Chairman of the UFR Language and Literature’s Scientific Council. He also served as the Chairman of the English Department from 2018 to 2022. Expert instructor with a strong background in postcolonial literature, identity studies, and the intersection of literature and human rights, he has been instrumental in organizing international conferences, such as the colloquium on « Literature and Medicine, » which explored the therapeutic dimensions of literature. For the past three years, he has been head of the organizing committee for seminars on Scientific writing, which aim to reinforce young university teachers and researchers’scientific writing skills. Prof. Koné is the author of De la théorie de l’art romanesque : une étude comparée de l’écriture de Carson McCullers et de Flannery O’Connor. Beyond his academic pursuits, Prof. KONÉ actively promotes English language education. In June 2021, he served as the patron of a conference organized by the Comité des Élèves et Étudiants de Côte d’Ivoire (CEECI) at UAO, emphasizing the importance of English proficiency for student employability. He highlighted that English is a global lingua franca, essential across various professional fields. Prof. KONÉ’s contributions to academia and his advocacy for language education underscore his commitment to fostering intellectual growth and professional development among students as well as teachers and researchers from other departments.
