Seminar on Digital Humanities, Organized by the Laboratory of Research in Languages, Anglophone Literature, Culture, and Civilization known as LaReLLiCCA "Université de Lomé", October 16-17, 2019.

This seminar took into account two distinct activities: training in the AntConc software and the improvement of Course and Tutorial materials

1- AntConc Software Training

This seminar, the first of its kind, follows a training in which the Director of LaReLLiCCA participated in Nigeria on ‘digital humanities’. This training focused on the knowledge of software for extracting the components of the text to accompany the analysis of discourses which was gaining in abstraction where the illustrations and contexts deserved to be specified for more objectivity in the corresponding studies.  As a practical framework, this seminar is an opportunity to share experiences between teacher-researchers from Togo and those from other universities on the use of data extraction software in the Humanities.  The workshops were formed by delegations of experts led by previously trained experts.

2- Improvement of course materials and Design of tutorial materials

The workshops also focused on the content of the teaching units and the course and tutorial support.  This second activity responds to the needs of the institution to strengthen the capacities of students by combining practical work with theoretical courses to deconstruct the erroneous perceptions of the LMD system by blaming the cause of failures. For the record, Professor Komlanvi SEDDOH, following an expertise he made on the LMD and its impact at the University of Lomé, Professor Nonou AHADZI had asked teachers, heads of departments, directors and deans at the UL to review their copy in order to make the LMD a friend for the success of students.

The Laboratory of Research in Languages, Anglophone Literature Culture, and Civilization known as LaReLLiCCA organized an Educational and Research Seminar on 10-11 September 2020

Theme: Regional exchanges of experiences between LaReLLiCCA and its partners on the use of innovative technical and technological tools in the conduct of university research and pedagogy

The participation of 11 academic institutions and a consulting firm allowed pedagogical exchanges and exchanges in times of COVID 19, first experience and to redefine approaches to meet the challenges of research and teaching in the partner universities.

Education in digital pedagogy in African universities in relation to the quality of teaching and the security of assessments requires technology and a pragmatic approach. The principle of adaptation and creation is constantly imposed when university policies do not have the same realities on the ground.

These were the exchanges on the use of information and communication technologies in higher education and the security of online assessments in the post-COVID-19 era. This project currently aimed to meet the challenges of teaching in the digital age in the CAMES space.

The contribution of Professor PEWISSI, Director of LaReLLiCCA, focused on attitudes and tips, interaction and management of learner numbers, online assessment, and keys to safe assessment in this context. The debates around these issues have allowed everyone to equip themselves for their educational and research mission.
